A worker was struck in the face by a car’s sideview mirror Tuesday morning in the eastbound lane of Eagle Drive just before McCormick Street, a Denton police spokesperson said.

The worker was taken to an area hospital with a bloody mouth, the police said.

People began posting on Twitter Tuesday morning that the worker’s leg had been injured, but officer Shane Kizer said that detail is inaccurate.

Authorities are investigating this as a routine traffic incident, and are unsure of the driver’s identity.
